Matthew Foy brings 13 years of experience in Software Development, Architecture and Team Leadership to his role as Qcentive’s VP of Engineering.

He has a background in Java, Python, and JavaScript using back-end stores such as Solr, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Druid and relational databases. His knowledge of all phases of the software development cycle and the design and implementation of products allows him to work seamlessly with developers and stakeholders to deliver solutions.

Matt came to Qcentive from Liberty Mutual Insurance, where as the Director of Rapid Prototyping he implemented a development process to rapidly build and deploy new applications within a larger, corporate IT structure and managed a development team of 10 software developers and UX designers to define and build prototypes.

Prior to his work with Liberty Mutual, Matt served as a team lead, architect and developer at Legendary Entertainment. He conducted code reviews, worked with developers on architectural design of their projects, prioritized tasks from internal and external customers, and managed the deployment of real-time bidding architecture.

Matt has also worked extensively to design, build and implement solutions to improve processes and responsiveness. Earlier in his career, Matt worked to rewrite data management systems and websites, in addition to overseeing their release and initial maintenance and providing post-launch additions such as increased automated UI testing, reporting, and performance improvements.

Matt holds an A.L.M. from Harvard University Extension and a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University.
